I grew up in the Midwest in a humble family. My parents were hard-working but there was never enough money. Some months we had to choose whether to have phone service or not (before cell phones existed), or whether to fill the fuel oil in the furnace of our home or just heat our home with one fireplace.

We had to choose which needs to meet.

What most people don't understand is that when you don't have enough income to cover the basics, money becomes the sole focus decision-maker for you.

I felt that deeply.

I hated that I couldn't make my future decisions with 100% creative freedom.

I mentally rebelled against the money-idea of "just getting by" and promised myself I'd do better financially in the future.

That was the beginning of my mental and emotional shift to chart new territory for myself. Not gonna lie--it was scary because it was unknown.

I know my parents did the best they could with the knowledge they had, and I love them for it. I happy to say I have made more than "just getting by" for many years now, and am grateful to God for His gifts and blessings to my family. My business has truly blessed my family beyond measure!

Along the way I've made mistakes in business and with money, so I've vowed to help others learn how to avoid those mistakes. My ongoing passion to empower women with their money starts with knowledge and education on the basics of staying profitable as a business owner.
